David F. Cook, PhD, serves as Vice President of Medical Affairs, where he leads the strategic direction and execution of the Medical Affairs function in close partnership with cross-functional teams across the organization.

Dr. Cook brings more than 25 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, with deep expertise spanning neurology, epilepsy, oncology, and hematology. He is recognized as a collaborative leader and thoughtful strategist with a strong track record of building and leading high-performing Medical Affairs and scientific communications teams.

Prior to joining SK Life Science, Dr. Cook held senior leadership roles at Neurelis, Inc., where he oversaw Medical Affairs, Scientific Operations, and Pharmacovigilance in support of a growing CNS portfolio. Earlier in his career, he held roles of increasing responsibility across leading biopharmaceutical companies, including Kite Pharma, Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, Ipsen, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, and AstraZeneca. Across these roles, he led medical information and scientific communications functions, supported multiple product launches—including cell therapy—and played a key role in establishing and scaling medical information capabilities and field medical teams.

Dr. Cook began his career in medical information and scientific affairs, developing deep expertise in translating complex scientific data into meaningful insights for healthcare providers, patients, and internal stakeholders. Over time, he expanded his scope to include global medical strategy, cross-functional leadership, and operational excellence across the product lifecycle.

He earned his PhD in Biopsychology and Neuroscience from the University of Illinois Chicago and holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English Literature from Northeastern Illinois University.
