Hong Wook Kim, PhD, has been with SK Life Science, Inc. for over 20 years and currently serves as the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of Global Clinical Development. Dr. Kim started working with SK Biopharmaceuticals in 2001 as a senior research scientist in drug discovery and later joined SK Life Science, Inc. in 2006. Dr. Kim has played a pivotal role in guiding the organization’s strategic initiatives and ensuring the seamless execution of cross-functional projects.

In his capacity as COO, Dr. Kim leads functional teams, maintains integrated clinical project plans, ensures regulatory compliance, manages drug substance and drug product planning, and addresses safety issues arising from nonclinical and clinical studies. He also contributes to the development and oversight of business strategies, assessing and managing principal risks, and overseeing day-to-day operations. Dr. Kim is committed to advancing healthcare solutions and innovation.

Dr. Kim is a seasoned pharmaceutical professional with 20 years of experience providing both nonclinical and clinical expertise to global drug development programs, from the early discovery phase to the late stages of clinical development. His experience encompasses a diverse spectrum of therapeutic areas including neurology, psychiatry, and metabolic diseases. He also has extensive experience of interaction with leading Health Authorities.

Dr. Kim holds a bachelor’s and a master’s in animal science from Seoul National University. He received his Ph.D in immunology, followed by post-doctoral training at Washington State University.
